What is the Healthcare Reform Campaign?
After the death of my friend and my own experience with the healthcare system. I decided to write a book to tell our stories. But instead of just complaining, I wanted to be a part of the solution. That was how the idea of the healthcare reform campaign was born.
We have four simple objectives:
- To create awareness of the difference between healthcare and medical care to dispel the misconception that hinders healthcare reform
- To provide strategies for bridging the gap between medicine and medical science
- To provide strategies for modernising healthcare business model
- To provide strategies for reforming medical education
Why join the Healthcare Reform Campaign?
The current healthcare system is broken. In its current form, the healthcare system does not serve the interest of patients or healthcare professionals. But it cannot be rebuilt without the involvement of all stakeholders including you. So, get involved. Together we can rebuild our healthcare system into a system that provides quality patient care and improved working condition for healthcare professionals.
Who can join the Healthcare Reform Campaign?
Membership of the Healthcare Reform Campaign is open to four distinct groups of people:
- Individuals who wish to see healthcare reform because of their personal experience
- Healthcare professionals who desire healthcare reform
- Healthcare administrators who desire healthcare reform
- Healthcare policy makers who desire healthcare reform
Why is the Healthcare Reform Campaign different from other patient advocacy groups?
The healthcare system is not only broken. It is outdated. It was built at the time when the demand for healthcare was different. The current healthcare system needs to be rebuilt to satisfy the 21st century healthcare demand. The Healthcare Reform Campaign aims to help healthcare professionals and administrators redesign the fundamental architecture of our healthcare system. In order to enhance patient care and improve working conditions for healthcare professionals.
We are different from other patient advocacy groups because we advocate complete root and branch reform of the current healthcare system. The following are the three things necessary for effective healthcare reform:
- Differentiating between medical care and health care
- Redesigning the healthcare business model
- Redesigning medical education
These are the things the Healthcare Reform Campaign advocacy focuses on, which is different from other advocacy groups that advocate reform within the current healthcare framework
